The Rifugio Grande Halte , also known as Rifugio Città di Mortara, is a historic base located at Alpe Seewji, in the heart of the Monterosa Ski area. Built in the early 1900s as a mountain hotel, it was for decades a reference point for mountaineers heading to Col d'Olen and Capanna Margherita. Today, after a renovation that has preserved its period charm, it offers modern and comfortable accommodation, ideal for hikers, skiers and mountain lovers.
In 1946, the refuge was acquired by the Mortara Section of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), which took care of its management and maintenance. Today, the structure has been carefully renovated, preserving many of the period furnishings, and offers a modern and comfortable welcome, ideal for hikers, skiers and mountain lovers.
